Panel and paint
Body repairer came to see the car the other day, and looks like he’ll be able to start our project sooner than I expected – possibly as early as mid-January. I’m not in a hurry it’s been waiting a long time but really happy to be booked in and ready to get started. We discussed what panels are likely to be needed, and I have a list of repair sections that I expect to buy. Great to have things moving again!...
Old bits #84
Steering column surround is not bad, but is broken where the front bolts together – seems to be quite common. Will hunt for another. Brake calipers, and brake and clutch masters needing clean up and rebuild.
Details to remember #247
The vinyl stripping runs up the B-pillar, overlapping about 5mm. Vinyl again along the front of the rear seat, over the transmission hump. Random shots of the stripped interior.

Time passes. March 2009. Stripped door hardware, wiring loom, brake lines, fuel tank (revealing a sadly rusty boot floor), and the heater box. Car is looking quite bare now. Starting to wonder who will do the body...
