Geelong Revival 2014
Top family day out at the Geelong Revival, our first time to this event. Nice variety in static displays of cars and bikes, and a 1/4 mile sprint along the foreshore in Geelong. Lots of interesting cars (although I didn’t take many photos). The Alfasud is a rear engined beastie, a sports sedan that was built in Queensland – it certainly sounded the part tearing up the 1/4...
Sandown Historics 2014
A top day out at Historic Sandown again this year with a tidy display of Formula 5000, Group A/C Touring cars, Group N Historics amongst other categories. There was a good selection of Alfas in Group S this year which put on a nice display for the marque. The club held a display on the apron next to the pits with a really nice selection of cars, some photos...
Motorclassica 2014
Definitely an event not worth missing, Motorclassica supplied some fine automobiles for me to drool over again. The standards are extremely high. My photos are of course of all the Italian machinery and there was plenty of it, too. A highlight was a freshly restored 1963 (?) Giulia Spider by Zoo Autocraft in NSW – fantastic detail in the restoration and I wish it luck in collecting...
Winton 6 Hour Relay October 2014
Once again I joined the team Maschi di Alfa to try to win the Winton 6-hour relay. We had our strategy, we felt comfortable on Saturday afternoon, but failed to put together a good result on Sunday. Still we had lots of fun, avoided any significant mayhem, and came away with smiles all round. Such a brilliant event, it’s not surprising it is fully subscribed every...
AROCA EMR to Hanging Rock Sept 2014
The club organised a run through the Macedon Ranges, stopping for coffee in Trentham and ending at the Hanging Rock reserve for a picnic/BBQ lunch. Beautiful spring day and some lovely back roads to enjoy. Jack and I took the Giulietta s**t-box and it was fun, if a little treacherous in the handling department. Some lovely Alfas out in the...
