Day Two – Wentworth to Tibooburra, 600 kms, all sealed.       Hang on, didn’t the book say “All sealed”?   Packsaddle Roadhouse – a great little roadhouse and pub in the middle of f&*% all.     Welcome to Tibooburra.  The locals welcomed us and closed a street for an outdoor dinner.  Great fun!

In April this year Sheldon and I ran the Shitbox Rally, and raised over $7300 for cancer research. My friends will do a better job of describing the experience in detail. I just can’t find the right words to describe how fantastic an experience doing this rally was, and what a lasting memory it will be. Not much progress on the GTV recently, but I collected a few parts thanks to Pancho at www.ar10537.com.  The 1750 boot badge is a very good used example, completely straight and perfect.  The reproduction badges available are not correct at all.  The windscreen wiper motor is a correct NOS unit, to replace the non-original motor that was in the car – from an Alfetta I think, and the self-parking did not...

Turismo Tasmania 2012 – Day 4

Turismo Tasmania 2012 – Day 3

Tour day 3 started with a brisk Launceston morning, and a drive to Longford – site of a major road racing circuit from 1953 until 1968.  Part of our route took us along the Longford ‘Flying Mile’, and then along the highway past remnants of the circuit and bridgework which was familiar to me from period photographs.  From Longford we followed some sweeping country roads into the Central Highlands and began to climb....
