I came down that day to have a bit of a sticky beak, and the track looked amazing! I’m now on the very dangerous path to prepping my car for sprints… any advice?
Here’s a link to an article I put together in 2005: http://alfa.bottch.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/sprinting.pdf – it covers some of the basics. It’s a very welcoming and friendly atmosphere, and if you’re a novice you’re well taken care of with an instructor in practice to show you around. You can just take your time and build up to some speed. There’s also a race craft day usually in February or March at Winton which is not bad, but don’t wait for that just get out there.
The basics are in that article and the supp regs, but really just need an extinguisher bolted in and some clear contact over your headlights. Flush and bleed your brakes as well before the day.
Hope to see you out there some time – come and say hello next time you visit.
This site is a personal journal of my obsession with Alfa Romeo cars old and new.
Currently we have a 1977 Alfasud Ti track car (“Madame”), a 2013 Alfa Mito QV hatch, a completed restoration project 1968 Alfa 1750 GTV coupe, and a 1974 Alfasud Sedan. There’s lots of other projects around though…
Always Looking For Another.
