Tony Hawker was a well-loved club member who passed away earlier this year. A couple of his friends from AROCA organised a club run and fundraiser for the GI Cancer Institute. A very nice run from Nunawading out through the fringes to Diamond Creek and up to Kinglake for a coffee break. From Kinglake we went north to Flowerdale, and then back through Healesville to Tarrawarra to visit the art gallery. Then on to the Train Trak winery and its Zonzo restaurant for a tasty lunch. Some lovely cars turned out, my favourite being Tony’s old 101 Giulia Sprint in light blue.
Through individual donations and a charity auction on the day, participants raised several thousand dollars for the charity . Great result.
