Every year the Macedon Ranges and District Motor Club (MRADMC!) hold their Picnic at Hanging Rock car show. This year we organised a convoy to park up the Alfas next to each other, as there are no reserved areas. We ended up with five Alfas and three Fiats, a small turnout but a group of nice folk. The weather was near perfect, with dust-settling rain in prior days and a nice cool breeze and warm sun. I expected the day to be dominated by Fords and Holdens but although there are plenty of those it’s the variety of makes and models on display that shocks. Everything from a Trabant to Leylands to Studebakers to bizarre hot-rods and commercial vehicles and tractors. Plenty of entertainment for the kids also and quite a well organised event – I heard that there were over three thousand cars on display!
